Toppers in Concert
Entertainment on wheels! From creative wishes to optimal results
We discussed the challenge with the technical department of Sightline Productions. Because technical production is the core of their activity, our team was faced with the challenge to translate the wishes of the customer (the organization of Toppers in Concert) into concrete possibilities. The biggest challenge? Using the the right swivel wheels to ensure that the float can be moved in the right direction. After that, at the end of the route, the swivel wheels must be put into the right place for the way back. The electro tug that provides the drive must accelerate a lot to make this happen.

Wheel requirements
Within the recreation industry, entertainment industry and stage industry, floats are often used. The achieved WoW-factor depends on the right wheel solution. A stagnating float is not what makes the public happy. Our specialists have formulated the following wheel requirements for the solution at this specific concert:
- Large wheels
- Low rolling resistance
- An elastic, solid, rubber wheel with profile for the right grip
- Steel-welded swing fork with bearings for minimal clearance in the swivel head.

The solution
We opted for swivel and fixed castors with a steel rim wheel and an elastic, solid, rubber tire with profile, fitted with ball bearings. The swivel and fixed forks are steel welded and have a turned swivel head with as little clearance as possible.
Constructive cooperation
From roller coaster to rotating stage and from float to flight cases...in the mean time we have gained a lot of experience when it comes to the world of entertainment and recreation! During this project we had the pleasure of working together with Jaap Bouma from Sightline Productions. We would really like to thank him for the pleasant cooperation! The project was very successful, so as far as we are concerned we are on to the next challenge!
