Hoppers with smoothly running top coversHeavy installation
Our customer Breston from Nieuwe Tonge (the Netherlands) has realized two receiving hoppers for the weighted loading of fertilizer for an Australian client. The expertise in the field of hoppers, conveyor belts and especially dust management are bundled in one single installation.
The hoppers have also been fitted with a mobile roof. They can be covered with this mobile roof when the hoppers are out of operation or when it rains to protect the product against weather influences. DM Wheel Systems has chosen a polyurethane wheel with a diameter of 250 x 80 mm for this roof application.
Resistant wheels
The dimensions of the two steel hoppers are 13.7 x 21.3 x 16.5 meters, which means that the top cover is also large and heavy. Moreover, the hoppers are always outside. The wheels for the top covers must therefore be able to carry a lot of weight, be weather-resistant and have a long lifespan. We opted for polyurethane wheels.
The frame of the 270-ton receiving hopper had to be designed in such a way that it can withstand all kinds of complex force combinations caused by hurricanes, earthquakes and collisions.

Wheel requirements
- High load capacity
- Long lifespan
- Weather-resistant
